My Grandparents & My Kiddos

This morning we visited Great Grandma & Grandpa. So of course I took the opportunity to take pictures! They just read books the whole time, so my photo opportunities we endless. It was pretty sweet to see the bonding between my kids and my grandparents! And it was hard to take pictures because all I wanted to do was just watch this priceless moment. :)

Ahhh.... Monday

Monday. Sometimes I just love Mondays. Being a stay-at-home mom I sometimes enjoy my weeks more than my weekends and this was one of those times. I get to have a little more me time, quiet time, cleaning time, & Bella time! This morning we got Carter out the door and I cleaned & did laundry while Bella just played. Then after lunch we both took naps! I haven't taken a nap in SO long! I think I may do this every Carter school day since we still have sleepless nights here in the Ryan house. So here are a few pictures of Bella Boo...............

Lazy Weekend

It was a pretty uneventful typical weekend around here. The kids & I hung around home and Andy went surfing. When he got home there was some football action though & that was exciting! Oh yeah, and Carter crashed into the stroller and I think he may get a black eye. He's very excited & keeps asking us if his eye is getting blacker. Typical guy :)

Me & My Kiddos

I thought today I should practice taking pictures indoors since we're nearing the end to sunshine around here and pretty soon that's the only place I will be taking photos :) Bella & our cat Emmy were happy to be my models for about 5 minutes..............

After dinner, shockingly, the kids let me take a few more pictures of them..........

And then it was back in the house for movie night since Daddy was working late..............

Ending on a Positive Note

A few nights ago I decided to create a before dinner ritual to do once everyone is seated at the table. I decided to do this for a few reason. 1. To raise (and turn my husband into) communicators. 2. To teach everyone in our house to focus on the positive of our day, not the negative. 3. Because just asking "how was your day" wasn't working in our house. And 4. To end our day on a positive note!
Before telling you what the ritual is let me tell you what dinner time used to be like......screaming demands, crankiness from the day, electronics blaring, and just pure craziness! Not my most proud part of the day as a mother & wife. :) And now it's patiently waiting for our new ritual which leads into happy conversation for the rest of dinner. Aaahhh.
So the dinner time ritual is..... simply going around the table and saying what you are thankful for today and what your favorite part of the day was. So simple and easy but has had a HUGE impact on all of us. The kids love hearing that our favorite part of the day had something to do with them and our kids say the sweetest things it literally brings tears to my eyes! I am so happy we are doing this and would recommend this to anybody experiencing what we were. And if for nothing else to just hear the fun things your kiddos &/or spouse comes up with!
And here's some random photos because it just feels weird to do a post without pictures.............

Dinner with Friends

This weekend we got together with friends for a dinner party. They have a wonderful house on 80 beautiful acres on top of a mountain. Absolutely beautiful! I wish I would have taken more photos but I waited to long to bust out my camera and the kids were all over the place so this is all I got..........

So much fun! I can't wait to go back and take more pictures. They have some amazing spots for pictures!

A Week of Firsts

Well this has been a week filled with firsts! We had first day of kindergarten, first day of preschool, Bella used the potty, and on Thursday Carter lost his first tooth! So on Thursday we had Taylor over and while jumping on the trampoline (with an extremely loose tooth) it just fell out. Everyone had to stop jumping and we had to crawl on our hands & knees to find the tooth. Very exciting!

Calling Daddy

Showing Taylor

This is how they measure to see who's taller. Otherwise it's just two hard to tell :)

A tiny little flower Bella picked for me :) This is one of my favorite differences between my two kiddos. Bella is always picking me flowers.
